REPLACED: "Late Show" host David Letterman, 55, is taking the week off to continue his recovery from shingles, CBS has announced. "Dave's principal treatment at this point is rest," his physician, Dr. Louis J. Arrone, said. Filling in for the star will be Whoopi Goldberg on Monday, Vince Vaughn on Tuesday, Elvis Costello on Wednesday and Will Ferrell on Thursday. A Friday night substitute has yet to be found.
EXPECTED: "Crossing Jordan" star Jill Hennessy, 33, and her husband, Paolo Mastropietro, are expecting a baby in mid-October, her reps confirm to the New York Post. The paper goes on to say that producers of the NBC show are trying to work her pregnancy into the plotline.

Best adapted screenplay went to David Hare for "The Hours," from Michael Cunningham's novel about author Virginia Woolf (played by Nicole Kidman) and two women (Meryl Streep and Julianne Moore) in other time periods with connections to Woolf's "Mrs. Dalloway."
PLEADED: Actor Tom Sizemore, 41, has pleaded not guilty to five misdemeanor charges -- domestic violence, battery, violating a restraining order, making criminal threats and dissuading a witness -- reports the Associated Press. In December, police responded to a call from an unidentified woman who said that the actor had hit her in the face and threatened her. Sizemore, free on $2,500 bail, could face up to a year in jail if convicted. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.
