DENIED: Gwyneth Paltrow, 30, and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, 26, are not engaged to be married, despite reports that circulated over the past few days, the "Shakespeare in Love" Oscar winner's publicist tells Zap2it.com. London's Sunday Mirror had quoted a supposed friend of the supposed groom-to-be, saying, "He can't wait till she becomes his wife. It will make him feel complete." Another source claimed that Steven Spielberg, stepping in for Paltrow's late father (director Bruce Paltrow, who died of cancer last year), would give her away. "The story is 100 percent fabricated. They are not engaged," said the publicist.

VOWED: When Celine Dion kicks off her remunerative three-year stint at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas on March 25, she promises to keep the show family-oriented, the pop diva, 34, tells Time magazine. She'll also keep her performances to 90 minutes. According to Dion, Caesars doesn't want the show to go any longer because "they want people to go back and lose money" at the slot machines.

CAST: "Saturday Night Live" alum Will Ferrell's star is on the rise, thanks to the success of his comedy "Old School." Variety reports that DreamWorks has outbid several other studios to buy "Action News," a comedy that Ferrell, 35, wrote and will star in. He is said to have been paid close to $4 million to star in the 1970s newsroom farce. Ferrell will reportedly play a pompous newscaster matched with an ambitious female colleague who is actually a talented journalist.

QUIT: Arthur Barens and Robert Kaufman, two lawyers for Liza Minnelli, 57, walked out on their client Monday, saying their relationship "has completely broken down" over a case involving a Beverly Hills home claimed by Minnelli's stepmother, Lee Minnelli, and a couple who tried to buy it last year, reports Reuters. The lawyers were representing Minnelli in a civil lawsuit filed last August by Merhdad Saghian and Stephanie Jarin, who claimed the actress-singer backed out of her agreement to sell the home to them for $2.75 million. A spokesman for Minnelli was not available for comment.
