50 Cent Wants Six Figures for Memoir
The Eminem protege, 26, and XXL magazine writer Vanessa Satten are said to be shopping a proposal to different New York City publishers and seeking an advance in the high six figures. (How hot is 50 Cent? Only this week, TeenHollywood.com reported that Lil' Kim has forgiven him for attacking her nose job and has collaborated with him on the song "Magic Stick" from her CD "La Bella Mafia.")
50 Cent and Satten apparently expect to complete a manuscript by September, with publishers rushing it into print for Christmas. Besides containing an autobiography, the tome is to include 50's previously unpublished poetry.
"Nine bullets" reportedly refers to the number of times 50 was shot. The musician grew up in a rough Queens neighborhood of New York, and his mother, a drug lord, was gunned down when he was 8. His father departed shortly after that.
His professional career began in the mid-'90s when he spread his name throughout the New York underground mix-tape circuit, working with late Run-DMC DJ Jam Master Jay and eventually partnering with Eminem and Dr. Dre to record his No. 1 album, "Get Rich Or Die Tryin'."
