As final plans are being implemented, a special $400,000 chapel has already been built on Crowe's private property, a party marquee has been erected and designer Giorgio Armani reputedly arrived Wednesday night from Italy with bridal outfits in tow -- as well as a strong security team to make sure nobody gets near his luggage, the Melbourne Herald-Sun reports.
The fashion icon is said to be dressing the bride, the groom and the bridesmaids, who reportedly are Spencer's two young English cousins.
The three-day wedding event kicks off Friday and is set to conclude Monday (the "Gladiator" Oscar winner's 39th birthday) with the couple exchanging vows. A cricket match has been reported to be one of the highlights of the weekend.
For now, a large marquee has been set up over a walkway leading to the chapel where the couple will marry, reports the Sun. The dome-roofed house of worship contains a giant stained-glass window and is surrounded by trees and a small white fence overlooking the property, which will be tightly protected by 76 security guards.
The Crowe spread is a sprawling parcel of land on Australia's northwest coast. The Sun says that some members of Spencer's family have already flown in from Britain, as have the parents of the bride and groom.
Crowe's publicist, Wendy Day, tells Reuters that the wedding will be "a low-key, private affair," with around 80 close friends and family but no A-list Hollywood superstars.
Even so, Crowe reportedly did apply to Australian authorities for his property to be declared a no-fly zone in anticipation of the big bash. That request was denied.
