On the Honeymoon Trail of Russell Crowe

Russell Crowe and Danielle Spencer have found plenty of things to do during their honeymoon.

First came the news that the couple bought an $8.5 million third-story penthouse overlooking Sydney, Australia's harbor.

Now comes word, courtesy of the Sydney Morning Herald, of how they spent their first weekend of marriage. Following the big real-estate purchase, this sounds like a very low-budget honeymoon.

The newspaper reports that the "Gladiator" groom, 39, and his bride, 32, arrived in their Mercedes in the north Queensland town of Mackay to spend Friday night at a motel in the central town of Rockhampton.

For lunch they reportedly ate takeout chicken from a Red Rooster restaurant that advertises lunches from $5. Crowe also signed autographs outside the establishment.

From there, the Crowe apparently moved north. Toong Tong Thai Restaurant owner Noui Amarangura tells the Herald that the Crowes ate in his establishment Saturday night, where they reportedly feasted on $50 worth of basil prawns, penang and satay chicken, chili sauce and steamed rice.

Amarangura said Spencer did the ordering, while Crowe arrived a bit later. Their beverage of choice was water, the owner said, adding, "They looked tired but they were still holding hands after eating ... They were very quiet -- they sat down and relaxed and were very polite."
