NAMED: Although she's good at winning Razzies for her movie performances, Madonna, 44, has a new honor. MTV.com voters will cite her as the top video star of all time in MTV's upcoming 90-minute special, "25 Greatest Video Stars" to air this Saturday. The votes were based on her innovation, creativity and contribution to video as art form, said the network. Eminem, Janet Jackson, Britney Spears and No Doubt round out the top five.

HURT: "Growing Pains" star Alan Thicke, 56, lost five teeth and required 30 stitches after getting hit with a hockey puck while playing alongside "Alias" star Michael Vartan, reports the Associated Press. "I won't be playing any leading man roles in the next couple of months," Thicke, who was not wearing proper headgear when he took an errant puck to the face, said in a statement issued by his spokesman.

QUOTED: "A hundred and three thousand takes in one film -- in one film!" -- Robin Williams, 50, speaking of San Francisco International Film Festival honoree (and perfectionist actor) Dustin Hoffman, 65, as reported by Reuters.

IMPROVED: Grammy-winning soul singer Luther Vandross, 52, remains in "critical but stable" condition since suffering a stroke in his Manhattan home a week ago, but he's showing signs of recovery, his spokeswoman said Wednesday. "The neurologists just feel that he's been extremely responsive over the course of the last day," she tells AP.
