AWARDED: Country star Shania Twain, 37, won the Country Recording of the Year award Sunday at the 32nd annual Juno Awards, Canada's equivalent of the Grammys. She also picked up the Artist of the Year and Fan Choice honors. But the big winner was Avril Lavigne, 18, who won the Single of the Year Award for "Complicated" and Album of the Year for "Let Go." She also took best new artist and best pop album for "Let Go."

NAMED: Limp Bizkit has chosen former Snot axeman Mike Smith as its successor to guitarist Wes Borland, reports Billboard. Smith debuted with the band when the group played live as part of Wrestlemania XIX in Seattle. "We really like jamming with Mike," Bizkit frontman Fred Durst posted on the band's Web site. "He's dope. This you will find out soon enough."

HIRED: Charlie Maher, 28, who was bypassed by Trista Rehn on ABC's "The Bachelorette," isn't down for the count just yet. The New York Post reports that the Southern California resident has been hired by TV's "Extra" to cover celebrity events and the fun "that happens when the sun go down," according to a press statement. His recurring segment will be called "Hollywood Nights."

CAST: Actor Steve Buscemi ("Reservoir Dogs," "Fargo"), 45, who has directed some episodes of "The Sopranos," is set to join the HBO Mob series as a regular, reports New York's Daily News. (HBO, like PEOPLE, is part of AOL Time Warner.) The network is keeping mum on his role, but the new season of "Sopranos" is due to begin in January.
