Russell Hightails It into Married Life

Sporting a crisp Armani tuxedo and a flaccid ponytail, Russell Crowe capped his 39th birthday Monday by marrying his longtime girlfriend, Australian singer-actress Danielle Spencer, at his 800-acre Australian ranch. And by Tuesday details of the three-day wedding bash were spilling onto the pages of the world's newspapers.

Most delicious detail so far: Crowe supplied $50,000 Harley Davidsons as gifts for his groomsmen. The guys used them to ride up to Monday's sunset ceremony.

The bride, 32, reportedly arrived in a black Mercedes limousine, accompanied by two bridesmaids who helped arrange her Organza veil -- also by Giorgio Armani, who arrived at the "Gladiator" Oscar winner's spread Down Under late last week in order to dress the wedding party.

TV's "Extra" reports that the Milan-based fashion icon donated Spencer's floor-length ivory creation (value: $100,000).

Spencer's father escorted the bride down the aisle of the private, domed chapel specially erected for the occasion. Bishop Philip Huggins conducted what he later told reporters was a "simple ceremony" in which Crowe and Spencer, before their 80 guests, exchanged "normal vows of love and admiration for one another."

Then came a night of partying.

And the morning after, the Sydney Morning Herald, in its coverage of the wedding, carried this simple headline: "Nice Suit, Shame About the Hair."
