A Clothes Call for Kidman Fashion Win
The Best Actress Oscar winner now has won the 2003 Fashion Icon Award from the Council of Fashion Designers America, for her "impact on fashion."

Last month, it was an Oscar. This month, she's the winner of the 2003 Fashion Icon Award by the Council of Fashion Designers America.
Recent PEOPLE covergirl Nicole Kidman is having a good year.
The Australian star of "The Hours," 35, was selected by a committee representing more than 450 designers, retailers and fashion writers, and will receive her award at a gala ceremony at the New York Public Library on June 2, reports Reuters.
Previous winners have included Lauren Bacall, Sophia Loren, Elizabeth Taylor and the late Audrey Hepburn.
"Nicole Kidman's style, both on and off the screen, has had an undeniable impact on fashion," CFDA executive director Peter Arnold said in a statement. "As an actress, she has developed her many memorable characters with an innate understanding of the artistry of clothes. "
As for the "Moulin Rouge" star's fashion-icon status, Arnold went on to say, "She has elegantly established her personal style and own iconic presence worldwide."
Not that she shined in the wardrobe department for her Oscar-winning role. As author Virginia Woolf, she appeared dowdy. But at the Oscars, the statuesque beauty appeared in a striking dark dress.
Her next movie role will be opposite Jude Law, Renee Zellweger and Philip Seymour Hoffman in the adaptation of Charles Frazier's Civil War novel "Cold Mountain," set in the Blue Ridges of North Carolina. Don't expect glitzy costumes in that one, either.
