An Oscar, a legal victory in a breach-of-privacy case against Britain's Hello! magazine -- it's been a busy past few weeks for Catherine Zeta-Jones.
And, on Easter Sunday, the "Chicago" star and husband Michael Douglas topped off everything with the birth of their second child, a girl named Carys Zeta Douglas.
Carys reportedly means love in Welsh -- Zeta-Jones is from Wales -- and, as the New York Post jocularly points out, that means the new arrival could conceivably be called a "love child."
The baby weighed 6 lbs. 12 oz. upon her arrival Sunday morning in Ridgewood, N.J., near the couple's Manhattan home, reports the Associated Press.
"They're all doing fantastic," the actress's Los Angeles-based publicist, Cece Yorke, said on Monday.
The couple, who were married in November 2000, also have a son, Dylan Michael, 2 1/2. Douglas, 58, has a son, Cameron, 24, from a previous marriage.
Zeta-Jones, 33, was named Best Supporting Actress at the March 23 Oscar ceremony, where she sang a duet with "Chicago" costar Queen Latifah. Oscar producer Gil Cates said before the event that show planners were prepared to rush Zeta-Jones to the delivery room, if necessary.
Douglas has his own Oscars, one for Best Actor for 1987's "Wall Street" and another for producing "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest." He and his father, legendary actor Kirk Douglas, 86, co-star with Cameron and with Michael's mother (and Kirk's ex), Diana Douglas, in the new comedy "It Runs in the Family," which opens Friday.
When Dylan was born, Kirk Douglas boasted that the baby had his signature dimpled chin.
