Actor-comedian Jamie Foxx and his sister were arrested in New Orleans early Saturday after allegedly refusing to show identification and refusing to leave a casino -- and then fighting with officers who were summoned to escort them away, police tell the Associated Press.

Foxx, 35, and sister Deidra Dixon, 25, entered Harrah's Casino at about 4 a.m., then argued with security guards who ordered them to leave after they had already approached a gambling table, said police Capt. Marlon A. Defillo.

CNN adds that Foxx and Dixon entered the Canal Street establishment with an entourage of seven people.

While she was being handcuffed, Dixon struck one officer in the face, Defillo tells AP, adding that officers used pepper spray to subdue the siblings.

The two officers received treatment at the Tulane Medical Center, one for a cut near the left eye (stitches were required) and another with shoulder and leg injuries, police tell CNN. Dixon's eyes required cleaning at Charity Hospital as a result of the pepper spray, police said.

Foxx was booked on charges of trespassing, battery on officers and resisting arrest. He was subsequently released on $1,900 bond. Dixon, of Tarzana, Calif., was booked with trespassing, simple battery on officers and resisting arrest.

Foxx, who lives in Hollywood, was a regular on "In Living Color" before creating and starring in FOX's 1996-2001 sitcom "The Jamie Foxx Show." His film credits include "Any Given Sunday," "Ali" and "Booty Call."

There was no immediate comment from Foxx or Dixon, says CNN.
