Ben, J.Lo May Make Third Film Together
Make it a possible three in a row for lovebirds Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez.
Veteran Variety columnist Army Archerd reports that the engaged duo may team up for a movie that Affleck's writing -- and plans to star in -- called "Gone, Baby, Gone."
Affleck, 30, may also direct it, says Archerd.
The story concerns two private eyes in Boston (which, incidentally, was the setting for 1997's "Good Will Hunting," for which Affleck shared a screenwriting Oscar with Matt Damon).
J.Lo and Affleck currently have two films in post-production, "Jersey Girl" and "Gigli." Recently, "Jersey Girl" writer-director Kevin Smith told The New York Times that he initially wasn't aware that his friend Affleck was dating Lopez, 32, when the leading man suggested she should play his wife in the gangster comedy.
"Bennifer," as Smith calls them, had just finished working together in "Gigli." "All of a sudden it turned out they were a couple and I thought, 'No wonder he wanted to work with her again.' Suddenly his suggestion didn't seem so altruistic."
Still, said Smith -- who is sweating over whether the public will remain interested in Bennifer, given that they're in the press nearly every other day -- filming the couple's love scenes for his film was easy.
"I don't know that they had to act that much," he said. "There were times when we'd say 'cut' and that didn't seem to matter to them."
