WED: Former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani married his longtime companion, Judith Nathan, in front of 400 guests Saturday night at the mayoral residence Gracie Mansion. Current mayor Michael Bloomberg officiated at the ceremony, where the bride wore a Vera Wang oyster-colored silk gown with a halter neck and a footlong train, and a 19th-century diamond-and-pearl tiara. It is Giuliani's third marriage and Nathan's second. The two started seeing each other more than three years ago, while the then-mayor was still married to TV personality Donna Hanover. After 20 years of marriage, Hanover and Giuliani were divorced last July, when the politico agreed to pay her more than $6.8 million.

INJURED: Liza Minnelli, 57, broke her right kneecap in a fall in Italy but still plans to sing "New York, New York" Tuesday night at a charity concert for Iraqi refugees with tenor Luciano Pavarotti, his rep tells Reuters. Minnelli tripped on a step in northern Bologna as she was leaving her hotel on Sunday night and was taken to hospital where her leg was set in plaster, Pavarotti's spokeswoman Terri Robson said, adding, "She remains in hospital, but the show will go on."

QUOTED: "I've thought about retiring for 30 years now. Before, I used to talk about going around and working behind the camera, and here I am, so it may be sooner than you think" -- Clint Eastwood, 73, to reporters at Cannes, where he unveiled his new directorial effort, "Mystic River."

DIED: Actress Rachel Kempson, 92, matriarch of an acting dynasty that included late husband Sir Michael Redgrave, daughters Vanessa and Lynn, son Corin and granddaughters Natasha and Jolie Richardson, died of natural causes at her upstate New York home Saturday, reports AP. Kempson, tall and statuesque like all the Redgrave women, was best known to television audiences as Lady Manners in the classic British colonial drama "Jewel in the Crown."
