Garner Files for Divorce from Foley
So much for a reconciliation: Six weeks after they announced their separation, "Alias" star Jennifer Garner has filed for divorce from her husband, actor Scott Foley, reports the Associated Press.
Legal papers filed by Garner in Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday cited irreconcilable differences, but offered no other reasons for the breakup.
The papers, do, however, cite the couple's date of separation as March 23 -- the day of the Oscars. That night, Garner (who was a presenter for the ceremony) showed up without Foley, and with a female friend as her date.
Then on April 1, the couple announced that they had mutually decided to separate.
The couple, both 30, met in 1998 on the set of "Felicity," the WB drama in which Foley co-starred. They married in 2000.
Garner's star has been on the rise ever since. Besides her breakthrough, butt-kicking role on ABC's "Alias," she was recently seen costarring with Ben Affleck in "Daredevil" and briefly opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in "Catch Me If You Can." Foley, meanwhile, starred in the short-lived NBC comedy "A.U.S.A."
