It wasn't a scene from her new movie, "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle," but actress-producer Drew Barrymore wasted no time in rushing to the rescue of her boyfriend, Strokes drummer Fabrizio Moretti, when was stranded out on the sidewalk at the film's New York post-premiere party, The New York Post reports.

When Moretti and friends showed up at the Manhattan club Eyebeam, they fell victim to a clipboard-welding publicist and burly bouncers who insisted that they remain outside with the gathered throngs awaiting the arrival of Barrymore and her costars, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu, the Post reports.

When Barrymore, 28, showed up 30 minutes later in a chauffer-driven SUV, she spied Moretti on the sidewalk, marched over and escorted him into the party, the Post reports.

Although headline stealing couple-of-the-moment Demi Moore (a costar in the film) and Ashton Kutcher were no-shows, security inside remained tight with the stars' booths separated from the party-going throngs by velvet ropes, reports the Post.

"Full Throttle," meanwhile, opens this weekend, and reviews have been sharply divided. Variety called it a "joyride of a movie that takes the winning elements of the year 2000 hit to the next level."

But The New York Times didn't have a such a nice aftertaste, saying the film "is like eating a bowl of Honeycomb drenched in Red Bull -- a dizzying mouthful of unabashed silliness that leads to an equally precipitous crash once the buzz wears off after the film's first hour."
