Burns, Turlington Finally Tie the Knot
While Ed Burns's latest movie, "Confidence," with Dustin Hoffman, may have crashed and burned at the box office, the handsome actor still had reason to rejoice this weekend: He married his longtime on-again, off-again companion, supermodel Christy Turlington, Saturday in San Francisco, according to published reports.
The pair married in a Roman Catholic ceremony at a church in San Francisco's North Beach, where the bride wore a Galliano gown, reports Britain's Sky News.
A reception followed at the Asian Art Museum.
Guests include Sting and Vin Diesel, while U2 singer Bono gave the bride away. (Turlington's father is deceased.) Bono also reportedly sang at the ceremony.
Burns, 35, and Turlington, 34, originally met three years ago at a charity event, then announced their first engagement within six months of togetherness.
The two originally planned to wed in Italy in 2001, but they didn't for a variety of reasons, they later said in interviews. (This included Burns's purported fear of flying in the aftermath of 9/11.)
The pair then broke up, with Burns reportedly dating actress Caprice Bourret before successfully wooing back Turlington.
