RAY OF HOPE: Ray Romano said that the standoff involving costar Brad Garrett on the set of their hit CBS sitcom "Everybody Loves Raymond" will be resolved. Garrett, who is reportedly paid $160,000 per episode, is holding out for more money before he returns to the fold. Shooting on the new season commenced Tuesday, without him. "I want everybody to get what they deserve -- and they will," Romano, 45, told TV's "Access Hollywood" in a segment that aired Wednesday. "CBS has always been good and, sure, it's all going to work out."
LOWE'S HIGH: Former "West Wing" star Rob Lowe has leapt into Arnold Schwarzenegger's California gubernatorial campaign, reported Reuters. Lowe, a longtime Democratic activist, has accepted a volunteer position to organize other celebrity supporters for the "Terminator" candidate, a Republican who is seeking to unseat the incumbent, Democratic Gov. Gray Davis, in an Oct. 7 recall election. In an interview with TV's "Extra," Lowe, 39, called Schwarzenegger, 57, a born leader who will "put the people above partisan politics.... That's what we need right now, because the state's in real trouble."
JOLIE PITTED: After Nicole Kidman walked away from "Mr. and Mrs. Smith," Brad Pitt was left without a costar -- until Angelina Jolie read the script and liked it, says the Hollywood Reporter. The thriller would star them as a bored husband and wife who learn they are enemy assassins hired to wipe out each other. Kidman exited because of a scheduling conflict, the trade paper reported. Jolie, 28, has agreed to costar with Pitt, 39, provided the shooting schedule matches her personal one.
LAWS SPLIT: After nearly six years of marriage -- and months of rumors of a rocky relationship -- British actress-producer Sadie Frost has filed for divorce from her husband, "AI" and "Road to Perdition" star Jude Law, according to published reports. "I have come very reluctantly to the decision that my marriage to Jude is over," Frost, who might be best known to American audiences for her role as Lucy in 1992's "Bram Stoker's Dracula," said in a statement. The couple separated in January, when Law, 30, reportedly moved out of their London home. Frost, 35, also has been battling depression, the couple said in a statement earlier in the year.
BARR BARRED: ABC said Tuesday it was pulling the plug on Roseanne Barr's "The Real Roseanne Show" after two weeks, replacing the reality show with reruns of "George Lopez" and "The Drew Carey Show" until the new season starts in September, said trade reports. On Monday, the ABC Family cable channel canceled "Domestic Goddess," Barr's cooking show that was to begin airing Sept. 20. Barr, 49, was scheduled to undergo a hysterectomy this week and production had barely begun.
