DUE: Charlie Sheen, 38, and Denise Richards, 32 (his wife since June 2002), are expecting their first child early next spring, their publicist has announced. He and Richards will also costar in next month's "Scary Movie 3."
QUOTED: "It was so impossible to believe, that I just sat there. I just sat there and I couldn't speak. I couldn't (say) anything. And (my sister) just kept talking to me and talking to me and talking to me, until I could say something." -- Joyce DeWitt, 53, to CNN's Larry King, on how she reacted to the news that her "Three's Company" costar, John Ritter, had died
DISSOLVED: Rocker Billy Corgan's post-Smashing Pumpkins band Zwan -- which featured bassist Paz Lenchantin, drummer Jimmy Chamberlin and guitarists David Pajo and Matt Sweeney -- has broken up amid poor sales and personnel problems, Corgan has told Chicago radio station WGN. "A couple of people asked me, 'Why didn't you tell anybody?' I'm sort of out of the period of my life when I run around trying to generate news," Corgan said.
ARRESTED: A man, said to be in his 40s, has been taken into custody by Scotland Yard for allegedly trying to cut the cables holding a box containing magician David Blaine, 30, the BBC reports. The box is hoisted over London's River Thames as part of Blaine's stunt to remain there, without food or plumbing, for 44 days. The suspect reportedly climbed a tower early Tuesday morning in order to get to Blaine, and then threw objects at the magician's box until he tried, unsuccessfully, to cut the power and water lines.
