"S.W.A.T." star Colin Farrell and his girlfriend, model Kim Bordenave are parents of a baby boy, a publicist for the Dublin-born actor confirms to the Associated Press.
Farrell, however, was not present at the birth -- which took place at an undisclosed hospital in Los Angeles -- because he was stuck on a movie set in Morocco, where he's filming "Alexander."
The baby, born Friday, weighed 7 lbs. 9 oz., said publicist Susan Patricola, who added that both mother and son are doing well.
"Although Colin couldn't attend the birth, he had family members standing in and is longing to see his new son and couldn't be happier," Patricola said. "The three will be together very soon."
And when they are, the baby will be named, Patricola said.
In 2001, Farrell, 27 (who was one of PEOPLE's 50 Most Beautiful People this year) was briefly married to actress Amelia Warner.
Meanwhile, in other baby news, Greg Kinnear ("Auto Focus"), 40, and his wife, Helen, 33, a freelance writer, welcomed their first child, daughter Lily, on Sept. 12 in Los Angeles, PEOPLE reports in its upcoming issue. The couple wed in 1999.
Kinnear is next due to star opposite Matt Damon in the Farrelly brothers' conjoined twins comedy, "Stuck on You."
And Oscar-winning actress Marlee Matlin ("The West Wing") and her husband of 10 years, L.A. detective Kevin Grandalski, both 38, are expecting their fourth child in January, the magazine says. The couple are already parents to Sarah, 7; Brandon, 3; and Tyler, 1.
