BORN: World champion figure skater Scott Hamilton, 45, and his wife, Tracie, 33, welcomed their first child late Tuesday, six years after Hamilton was successfully treated for testicular cancer, reports the Associated Press. Aidan McIntosh Hamilton weighed 7 lbs. 9 oz., according to a statement released by Hamilton's publicist, Michael Sterling. "It was an entirely naturally conceived birth," Sterling said. The Hamiltons were married last December.
THREATENED: Ballerina Anastasia Volochkova, 27, announced at a Moscow press conference Thursday that she is preparing to sue the managers of the Bolshoi Theater for firing her amid their claims that her dance partners found her too heavy to lift. Bolshoi director Anatoly Iksanov said earlier this week that he fired the 5'6", 109-lb. Volochkova after she had refused to sign a new contract. Iksanov also said the theater couldn't find partners for her because male dancers complained she was too tall and heavy.
