OFFERED: Jennifer Aniston's Emmy dress attracted bids of more than $4,100 in a "Clothes Off Our Back" auction on eBay that's due to close on Wednesday, reports the Associated Press. Last year, the charity initiative received Emmy outfits from about 20 celebrities and raised more than $87,000. Aniston's midnight blue, knee-length dress, inspired by Marilyn Monroe's subway-grate dress in "The Seven Year Itch," was the leading seller at the auction out of more than 30 outfits worn by stars to this year's Emmys. The money raised will go to Cure Autism Now and the Union of Concerned Scientists.

RENEWED: CBS has picked up fifth installments of the reality series "Big Brother" (for next summer) and the Emmy-winning "The Amazing Race" (for midseason or summer), says the Hollywood Reporter. Meanwhile, NBC is planning additional episodes of its summer reality series "The Restaurant" for late midseason. It hasn't been determined yet whether chef Rocco DiSpirito will continue to star in the latter. Discussions also are underway for the Simon Cowell-produced series "Cupid," but there is no decision if the dating show will return, said Ghen Maynard, head of CBS's alternative programming department.

QUOTED: "I don't know what Mr. Schwarzenegger is afraid of. I mean I never participated in a Mr. Universe contest. I weigh maybe 165 pounds on a good day. I'm ready to go to him toe-to-toe, but he seems to be the one on the run." -- Democratic California Gov. Gray Davis, 60, on the refusal of his Republican rival, Arnold Schwarzenegger, to debate him, to the Associated Press

SENTENCED: Kerry Gonzalez, 24, of New Jersey, who pleaded guilty in June to releasing a bootlegged version of "The Hulk" on the Internet, was sentenced to six months of home confinement, with three years' probation. He was also ordered to pay $5,000 to Universal Studios for violating copyright law, reports The New York Times. Gonzalez reportedly got his hands on an early print of the movie at an ad agency that was preparing its marketing campaign. He then uploaded the movie onto the Web, which violates federal trademark law. He could have faced up to a year in prison, notes The Times.

DIED: Yukichi Chuganji, 114, a retired silkworm breeder and the world's oldest man, has died, local Japanese government officials tell Reuters. Family members found him dead in his futon on Sunday evening, said officials on the southern island of Kyushu. He had been in good health, talking daily with his daughter's family, with whom he lived, but he hadn't ventured from his bed very often in recent years and had poor eyesight. Kameni Nakamura, 108, now becomes Japan's oldest man. It is not known yet whether he also is the world's oldest.
