Warrant Out for Arrest of Lil' Kim
Lil' Kim, who recently made headlines when her jewelry case went missing at Kennedy Airport, is now a wanted woman, with a warrant out for her arrest, reports New York's WNBC-TV News.
The warrant reputedly stems from her having been busted on marijuana possession charges at the Teaneck, N.J., home of the late Notorious B.I.G. in July 1996, said the news report. At the time, says WNBC, Notorious B.I.G. was charged with gun possession.
The warrant reportedly was issued after Lil' Kim missed several municipal court dates to answer the charges.
Launch.com reports that calls to Lil' Kim's label, Atlantic Records, and to the Teaneck Police Department were not immediately returned.
According to WNBC, Lil' Kim's lawyer says she thought the whole matter had been resolved years ago, and he is now working to resolve the issue
As was widely reported in July, Lil' Kim (real name: Kimberly Jones), 28, was en route to the Black Entertainment Television Awards in L.A. when she noticed that her jewelry case might have been snatched.
John Acheson, 31, of the New York City suburb of New Rochelle, was eventually charged with attempted grand larceny, attempted grand larceny by extortion and attempted coercion for allegedly demanding $25,000 from Lil' Kim to return a missing necklace, reported the Associated Press.
