Ben Affleck has been a busy guy lately -- what with postponing his wedding, patching things up with Jennifer Lopez and buying a hunting license. But one North Carolina woman says the actor also found time to stalk and threaten her.
Affleck is denying allegations by the woman, Tara Ray, who filed a private citizen's warrant accusing him of "communicating threats" against her, Britain's Sky News reports.
Ray claims Affleck, 31, followed her as she drove home from Raleigh, N.C., on Sept. 25 and then threatened to hurt her. She also claims she has been in a relationship with the actor since February 2002.
"I honestly believed my life was in danger," she said. "I'm not out for the publicity part. I just wanted it to be known in the public that he's very capable of doing this to me."
Affleck's spokesman in New York, Ken Sunshine, describes Ray's allegation as "absurd and defamatory. He has no idea who this woman is."
The rep also says Affleck was at his home near Savannah, Ga., on the day in question and that there were "probably at least 50 paparazzi" who could attest to that fact.
In Georgia, a Kure Beach police spokesman told Sky News that the department "has not and is currently not investigating Mr. Affleck for any crime. This warrant was taken out by a private citizen."
