RATED: Sunday's Emmys were a disappointment, attracting a below-average 17.7 million viewers on FOX, down from last year's 20 million, according to preliminary numbers from Nielsen Media Research. Still, that's slightly better than the 17.1 million who watched the twice-delayed 2001 awards, which aired in November on CBS opposite the World Series finale. Excluding the 2001 Emmys, the three-hour, 15-minute telecast was the least-watched since FOX hosted the Emmys in 1999. Adding further insult to injury, FOX did not win a single Emmy.
