Cameron Diaz isn't going to lose her shirt after all.

On Tuesday, a judge in California barred photographer John Rutter from selling, publicizing or possessing pictures he took of the 31-year-old actress in 1992, reports Reuters.

The photographs, many of them depicting a topless Diaz, have been at the center of controversy since Rutter attempted to sell Diaz the photos this summer. Rutter allegedly demanded $3.3 million for the pictures, which were taken prior to the actress's breakout role in the 1994 Jim Carrey comedy, "The Mask."

The 41-year-old shutterbug had threatened to sell the photos to a group in Europe, before police raided his apartment and seized them earlier this year. For his part, Rutter claims he had every right to sell the photos, and that he was simply offering Diaz's camp first crack at buying the shots before offering them to someone else.

The photographer, who is currently free on bail, is charged with extortion, a felony, as well as with forging Diaz's signature on a model-release form, the Associated Press reports. He will be arraigned Dec. 8.
