John Corbett is hoping his luck in the Caribbean is better than it was in Las Vegas.
The star of FX's short-lived "Lucky" -- a half-hour drama following the life of a down-and-out gambler trying to get back on his feet in Las Vegas -- has signed on for an untitled ABC pilot set at a high-end hotel in the Bahamas, reports Reuters.
On the new pilot, Corbett will star as the manager of a top-tier resort, as the show tries to capture the comings and goings of the hotel's guests and staff. The show originally was due to air this fall, but was pushed back to midseason March 2004.
The 42-year-old actor first gained fame on CBS's unusual hit "Northern Exposure," for which he received an Emmy nomination. He went on to a recurring role as Carrie's love interest Aidan Shaw on HBO's "Sex and the City," and he also played groom Ian Miller in the megahit "My Big Fat Greek Wedding."
Corbett recently finished a couple new films, including "Raising Helen" with Kate Hudson and "Elvis Has Left the Building," in which he plays opposite Kim Basinger.
