Russell Crowe's wife, Danielle Spencer, gives birth Sunday night to "a healthy, bouncing baby boy looking forward to Christmas," says his publicist.

The pitter patter of little gladiator feet has come to the Crowe home, as Russell Crowe and wife Danielle Spencer welcomed their first child Sunday night in Sydney, Australia, the Oscar winner's publicist tells the Australian Associated Press.
"He's a healthy, bouncing baby boy looking forward to Christmas," says the rep, Wendy Day. The child, named Charles Spencer Crowe, weighed in at 6 lb. 2 oz.
Crowe, 39, and Spencer, 32, were married at his Australian cattle property in April, and in July, during a TV interview Down Under, Crowe announced that they were expecting.
"Danni is 14 weeks and three days. So it is a lot of fun and she is feeling all the effects of it," Crowe told Channel Nine TV.
Spencer appreciated Crowe's sarcasm about her condition, spokeswoman Day said at the time, adding that the new bride "gets his sense of humor. ... He actually is very attentive and sympathetic and sensitive to Danielle as she goes through her morning sickness."
The rep said the news of the blessed event "should not come as a huge surprise to anyone" given that the couple made clear "their intention to get pregnant as soon as possible" after their wedding.
Besides the new addition to his family, Crowe also has a new honor. On Thursday he was nominated for a Golden Globe as best actor in a drama, for his role in director Peter Weir's "Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World."
