Sharon Paints Dire Picture of Ozzy

Ozzy Osbourne was effectively a goner after his quad bike accident earlier this week and he had to be revived by a security guard, his wife Sharon tells Britain's Daily Mirror in an interview.

"He had stopped breathing for a minute and a half, and there was no pulse," Sharon Osbourne, 51, tells the paper. "But thank God the security guard was there to revive him. He resuscitated him and got him breathing and his pulse going again."

On Monday, the Birmingham-born Ozzy, 55, underwent emergency surgery at the Wexham Park Hospital in southern England, following a crash that occurred while he was riding an all-terrain bike at his English country estate during a day off from promoting his new single (a duet with his daughter Kelly, "Changes").

He is said to be on a ventilator, according to hospital authorities.

"He has got such horrendous injuries to his body. His whole body is traumatized," Sharon added. "The doctors are hoping there hasn't been any lasting damage but until Ozzy can actually come round and get off the ventilator and talk then will they know."

While Sharon tends to her husband in England, her American TV program, "The Sharon Osbourne Show," on Friday will feature a message from her. (Lance Bass serves as the episode's guest host.)

Her message, in part, is: "I'm here at my home in London, and I'm sure you've all heard ... about Ozzy. Ozzy is doing really well. ... He's still in the ICU, but he's doing really good -- he's very stable. ... I want to thank everybody that's written in and sent all their good wishes and prayers for Ozzy, and to assure you that he's doing just fine, and we send you all our love. And thank you again everyone that's been so supportive. And I will be back really soon!"
