SAG Loves 'Mystic River,' 'Raymond'

The biggest winners, however, came from the television categories, as "Everybody Loves Raymond" and HBO's miniseries "Angels in America" picked up six nominations apiece for their stars.
Meanwhile, there were surprises aplenty, with such Golden Globe frontrunners as "Cold Mountain" getting a cold shoulder -- except for a supporting actress nod to Renee Zellweger, who was nominated while costars Jude Law and Nicole Kidman were not. Other expected shoo-ins, Russell Crowe ("Master and Commander"), Tom Cruise ("The Last Samurai") and Scarlett Johansson ("Lost in Translation" and "Girl with a Pearl Earring") also were shut out.
Instead, three nominations went to "The Station Agent" -- the quirky tale of a dwarf who moves to a train depot in New Jersey -- for star Peter Dinklage and actress Patricia Clarkson. It's also up for the ensemble honor alongside "Mystic River" (which also had three nods), "In America," "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" and "Seabiscuit." Multiple nominations also went to "The Cooler," "Seabiscuit," "Thirteen" and "21 Grams."
For lead actor, Dinklage is up against Johnny Depp ("Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl"), Ben Kingsley ("The House of Sand and Fog"), Bill Murray ("Lost in Translation") and Sean Penn ("Mystic River").
Clarkson, who also was nominated for her supporting performance in "Pieces of April," will compete for leading movie actress honors with Diane Keaton ("Something's Gotta Give"), Charlize Theron ("Monster"), Naomi Watts ("21 Grams") and Evan Rachel Wood ("Thirteen").
On TV, "Raymond" nabbed its six honors for leading actresses Patricia Heaton and Doris Roberts, who will compete against one another, as well as against "Will & Grace" stars Debra Messing and Megan Mullally, and the only cast member of "Friends" to be nominated, Lisa Kudrow -- though that NBC smash got a nod for best ensemble cast.
"Raymond" (which along with "Friends" and "Frasier," "Sex and the City" and "Will & Grace" is also up for best ensemble comedy cast) monopolized the leading comedy actor category, with nominations going to Ray Romano, Peter Boyle and Brad Garrett. The two outsiders in the category are Sean Hayes of "Will & Grace" and Tony Shalhoub (of "Monk").
Though "Will & Grace" received four nominations, its leading man, Eric McCormack, was left empty-handed.
In TV dramas, ensemble nominations went to the casts of "CSI," "Law & Order," "Six Feet Under," "The West Wing" and "Without a Trace."
In the miniseries and made-for-TV category, "Angels in America" scored nominations for new mom Mary-Louise Parker, Meryl Streep and Emma Thompson (they are up against Helen Mirren and Anne Bancroft, both for "Tennessee Williams's 'The Roman Spring of Mrs. Stone'"), and to Justin Kirk, Al Pacino and Jeffrey Wright. The men will face Paul Newman ("Our Town") and Forest Whittaker ("Deacons for Defense").
The SAG awards will be presented live on TNT Sunday night, Feb. 22. PEOPLE magazine is one of the sponsors of the post-awards gala, which will benefit the SAG Foundation.
