Six months after they began dating, actress Selma Blair and actor-rocker Ahmet Zappa got married Jan. 24 at the Coldwater Canyon, Calif., home of actress-writer Carrie Fisher, PEOPLE reports in its new issue, on newsstands Friday.
"The ceremony was so romantic, beautiful, elegant, a little goofy -- exactly like them," a friend who attended the nuptials tells the magazine.
Heat lamps took the edge off the 50-degree temperature as Blair, 31, strode a candlelit walkway in a white satin tailor-made Karl Lagerfeld gown.
Zappa, 29, son of the late music legend Frank Zappa and brother to Dweezil and Moon Unit Zappa, greeted her in a black suit.
For the reception, Blair changed into a dress just like her wedding gown, only black. Approximately 70 guests enjoyed grilled salmon and a three-layer coconut wedding cake and danced to '80s pop tunes spun by a deejay.
"They're so clearly in love," says a guest. "I can't imagine them not being together."
Best known for her roles in 1999's "Cruel Intentions" and 2001's "Legally Blonde," Blair grew up in Michigan and was going to pursue a career in photography when she took up acting, originally in New York. She also reportedly had dated actor Jason Schwartzman ("Rushmore").
Besides making his own music, Zappa, whose full name is Ahmet Emuukha Rodan Zappa (Ahmet after Atlantic Records honcho Ahmet Ertegun, Rodan after the Japanese movie monster, and Emuukha because his parents made up that name), also has done some acting himself. In the mid-'90s, he played one of daughter Becky's friends on "Roseanne."
