N.Y. Giants QB Named Next 'Bachelor'
Jesse Palmer, the 25-year-old New York Giants quarterback, reportedly will step into the lead role when the next edition of ABC's hit begins filming in April.

ABC has picked its next "Bachelor," and this guy's especially good at making passes.
New York Giants quarterback Jesse Palmer will be the next dreamy hunk to find his true (or perhaps just temporary) love for the fifth season of the romance reality series, TV's "Extra" reports.
The 25-year-old jock is expected to start whittling down his picks when the show begins filming in April.
As reported by New York's Daily News and Post, Palmer was born in Toronto and grew up in Ontario. The 6'2", 219-lb. athlete was drafted by the Giants three years ago when he was a student at University of Florida. He's the backup to quarterback Kerry Collins, whose injuries this past season resulted in Palmer starting in the Giants' final three games.
Palmer will search for love among two dozen women selected for him. Of course, as PEOPLE reports in its latest issue (on newsstands Friday), none of the previous couples from the show has made it to the altar. Alex Michel and Amanda Marsh from season one, Aaron Buerge and Helene Eksterowicz from season two, Andrew Firestone and Jen Schefft from season three and Bob Guiney and Estella Gardinier from season four have all split up.
But, apparently, hope springs eternal-- and makes for good TV.
The only success story thus far appears to be from "The Bachelorette," as Trista Rehn and Ryan Sutter have tied the knot. Meanwhile, "Bachelor" runner-up Meredith Phillips is currently making her picks and trying to make it two-for-two.
