P. Diddy Settles $3 Million Lawsuit
The music mogul reaches a deal with the driver who sped him and J.Lo away from the notorious 1999 Times Square nightclub shooting.

Sean "P. Diddy" Combs has settled a $3 million lawsuit filed by his former driver, who claimed that he suffered emotional damage after an infamous Times Square nightclub shooting four years ago, when Combs instructed him to speed away from police, reports the Associated Press.
State Supreme Court Justice Harold Beeler announced the settlement Monday and dismissed the Manhattan jury hearing in the lawsuit filed by Wardell "Woody" Fenderson of East Orange, N.J.
By mutual agreement, lawyers for both sides are keeping mum about the terms of the settlement, saying only "the matter has been resolved to the satisfaction of all parties," according to AP.
Fenderson's lawsuit arose after shots rang out and three people were wounded at Club New York early on the morning Dec. 27, 1999. The driver said he was outside the club in Combs's Lincoln Navigator waiting for the music mogul and his then-girlfriend, Jennifer Lopez.
Once the crowd began fleeing the club, Combs, Lopez and Combs's bodyguard, Anthony "Wolf" Jones, also fled, jumping into the sport utility vehicle and ordering Fenderson to drive and "don't stop for anybody," claimed the driver, now 45.
During the first three days of the trial, Fenderson testified that was ordered to drive and continue despite police orders to stop. Fenderson's knowledge that there were guns in the vehicle, and his subsequent arrest, caused him emotional trauma, he claimed, testifying that he became reclusive and a heavy drinker on account of the experience.
His lawsuit also alleged false imprisonment (although he admitted he could have stopped the SUV and gotten out anytime he wanted) and assault, though he admitted that no one touched him in anger that night, notes AP.
Combs and Jones were later acquitted of gun-possession charges.
