Pro Bowl Disses Justin's Bandmate JC

Still feeling the sting from Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake's Super Bowl breast-baring stunt, the National Football League has dumped JC Chasez, one of Timberlake's 'N Sync bandmates, from this Sunday's Pro Bowl halftime show.

The announcement was made by Brian McCarthy, a spokesman for the NFL's annual all-star game, which will be televised live from Hawaii on ESPN, the Associated Press reports.

"The commissioner (Paul Tagliabue) said Monday morning that we will change our policies and procedures as it relates to entertainment during our games," McCarthy said. "This is immediate action that reflects that approach."

Though it was unclear which of Chasez's new songs he had intended to perform -- likely possibilities included either his current single "Some Girls (Dance With Women)" or "All Day Long I Dream About Sex" -- the new halftime program calls for a Hawaiian extravaganza, replete with 200 hula dancers, 1,000 other dancers, drummers, conch shell blowers and local singing duo Amy Hanaiali'i Gilliom and Willie K.

Gilliom and Willie K are scheduled to perform a new song called "Welcome to My Paradise," as well as a new theme song for the Pro Bowl, titled "Twenty-Five Years of Aloha." Said McCarthy: "We have felt it was more appropriate to go with a Hawaiian theme to celebrate the Pro Bowl's 25th anniversary in Hawaii."

Through a publicist for 'N Sync's label, Jive Records, Chasez (real name: Joshua Scott Chasez), 27, issued a statement saying, "No one could be more disappointed than I that the NFL has canceled my halftime performance at the Pro Bowl this coming Sunday, (but) I've told the NFL I understand the pressure that they are under since the Super Bowl."

Orr said she could not immediately say whether Chasez will still perform "The Star Spangled Banner" at the game, as originally planned.
