Thanks to her breakthrough roles in "Lost in Translation" and "Girl with a Pearl Earring," Scarlett Johansson is ready for the sweet smell of success.
Calvin Klein has signed the 19-year-old actress as its representative for a new fragrance launching this fall. She will appear in print and television ads, the company said.
"Just when I thought things couldn't get better, something like this happens," Johansson said in a statement.
Indeed, Johansson's name has been on everyone's tongue lately. The New York-born actress received two Golden Globe nominations earlier this year for her roles in "Lost in Translation" and "Pearl Earring," and last week she took home the British Academy Film and Television Award for best actress for her "Translation" performance.
"We made the decision to sign Scarlett because she is so of the moment: hip, fresh with an urban sophistication," a spokesperson for the company said.
Calvin Klein has worked with a number of rising stars in its history, including Brooke Shields, Mark Wahlberg and Ashton Kutcher, among others.
Johansson's most recent film was the heist flick "The Perfect Score." Her next projects include "A Good Woman," with Helen Hunt, and "A Love Song for Bobby Long," both due later this year.
