Being a pop diva can be treacherous.

Britney Spears learned that the hard way when she injured her knee Thursday during her Onyx Hotel tour stop in Moline, Ill., forcing her to cut the show short and cancel Friday's date at the Allstate Arena just outside Chicago.

According to "Entertainment Tonight," Spears hurt herself while performing a dance maneuver to one of her new songs, "Boom Boom." After she left the stage, she returned several minutes later dressed in a white bathrobe to apologize to the audience for not being able to continue the show, "ET" reports.

About 15,000 fans were expected to attend Friday's Rosemont, Ill., concert, but they've been told to keep their tickets until further notice (the performance may be rescheduled for sometime in April, according to an arena representative). There's no word on whether Spears's injury will affect any other of her tour dates, including her March 28 concert in Miami, which will be broadcast live on Showtime.
