A Minnesota college student has sued Prince and his bodyguard for allegedly assaulting him late last year after he took a picture of the rock star as he was getting off a flight at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, say reports.
Frank Berman, an attorney for student Anthony Fitzgerald of Edina, Minn., tells the Minneapolis Star-Tribune that the lawsuit, dated Jan. 14, was filed in the Hennepin County Government Center this past Wednesday because Prince's "people" wouldn't accept a copy of it.
Furthermore, Berman said Fitzgerald is asking the court for instructions on how to serve the star with the papers.
Fitzgerald claims that on Dec. 29, Prince's bodyguard, identified only as "Trevor," lunged at him "in an aggressive, threatening manner," then grabbed his digital camera, leaving him "stunned and humiliated."
Fitzgerald is seeking damages for assault and battery, loss of the camera and intentional infliction of emotional distress that purportedly left him anxious and unable to sleep.
Prince spokeswoman Ronnie Lippin tells the Star-Tribune that she's not familiar with the lawsuit, and had no comment.
