Courtney Love Arrested at New York Club
Love, 39, was charged with reckless endangerment and third-degree assault after the stand struck a 24-year-old man in the head, the Associated Press reports.
A spokesperson for the nightclub Plaid told CNN that the victim was "very insistent on pressing charges and arresting Love," who called her attorney before police removed her from the club.
"She decided to go quietly," the spokesperson added. "She had no bad intentions when she threw the thing, it was just part of her acting. She didn't know she hurt someone and felt terrible about it, but she didn't feel she was guilty of a crime either."
According to police, the victim was taken to Cabrini Hospital with minor head injuries.
Calls by the AP to Love's reps weren't immediately returned.
As for her Wednesday night Letterman appearance, Love, who is facing felony drug charges in California, repeatedly lifted her shirt for Dave, including once when she stood on his desk and sang "Danny Boy." Letterman showed little reaction.
The host went on to ask Love whether she could talk about her court case, to which she said: "Yeah, I'm not supposed to."
Dave then asked whether drugs were involved. "One expired Percocet and one Ambien," Love replied, later asking Letterman, "Do you think I'm, like, wacky and stuff?"
"Are you wacky?" Letterman deadpanned.
"Okay," Love conceded, "but is that against the law?"
