TWO RING CIRCUS
Christmas came early for the stars of the Lord of the Rings trilogy. When production wrapped after nearly four years, each of the major cast members was given his or her own send-off party and a special parting gift from director Peter Jackson. "I was given a fish," says actor Andy Serkis (the voice of Gollum). "Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen) got a sword. Orlando Bloom got his bow. And both Elijah Wood and I were given rings. Elijah was given the ring that was used predominately in the first movie, and I got a ring that was predominately used in The Two Towers. That's a real privilege." The third installment, The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, opens Wednesday.
WHY PARIS SMELLS SO SWEET
Paris Hilton is refusing to let a little sex tape scandal interrupt those rejuvenating shopping trips with her mom. Wearing a camel-colored velour track suit and carrying a white Louis Vuitton bag, Paris recently tried several scents from Susanne Lang's custom-blended fragrances at Barney's New York. "Paris knew exactly what she wanted – nothing to do with spice or florals," says Joanna Black of Blink New York, Lang's public relations firm. "She wanted something sweet like vanilla. That was her favorite." Barney's salesgirl Kathyrn Siddal adds that Paris was reserved but her mother was very bubbly: "They had a very cute, close relationship."
An actress's pregnancy can cause some production headaches on the set of a TV show, and Will & Grace is no exception. In September, doctors gave Debra Messing bed-rest orders, causing her to miss almost a month of shooting. Since her return in October, Messing hasn't been able do any of her usual physical comedy because of her delicate condition, and several scripts had to be rewritten to reflect a more sedate Grace. Says a source on the show: "Debra shouldn't even really be on her feet."
ANASTACIA'S SHOPPING SPREE
Singer Anastacia really put her credit card to work during a recent visit to the Horn store on L.A.'s trendy Robertson Drive. The "I'm Outta Love" singer, 35, was introduced to the boutique by her stylist, who picked out a navy blue, wrap-around jersey top from Blumarine (value $550) for her to wear onstage with Bono and Beyonce at the recent "46664: Give One Minute of Your Life to AIDS" event in South Africa. On her recent spree there, Anastacia picked up a black Amor & Psyche long-sleeve top with sequined skull, cross and heart embellishments ($259), a Jacqueline Von Lehnoff white-gold-and-diamond cross pendant necklace ($690), a pair of black cotton Goa "biker" pants ($155) and a matching black Goa long-sleeve tee with a patchwork design ($89).
