LAST DAYS OF SEX
The cast and crew of Sex and the City took over a SoHo art gallery Monday, replaced the art with restaurant furniture and filmed the show's final cafe scene. It was Cynthia Nixon's last day. "One of the directors with a bullhorn yelled to the cast and crew, 'Ladies and gentlemen! This is the last shot for Cynthia Nixon; we'd like to thank her and say goodbye,' " Steven Diamant, president of Arcadia Fine Arts, told PEOPLE.com. Nixon "and Sarah Jessica Parker were a total mess after that. There were hugs and kisses all around and it was very emotional." When filming wrapped at 11 a.m., the cast and crew took a final picture in front of the gallery – but not before both Nixon and Kim Cattrall asked to join the mailing list.
DOWNPLAYING THE DOWNFALL
Director Kevin Smith probably thought he had scored quite a coup way back when he cast Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez in his upcoming movie Jersey Girl. Nowadays, Smith is downplaying the couple's much-publicized breakup. "If anything, it might make some folks morbidly curious," Smith told us when asked if the timing would hurt the film, opening March 19. "This week's covers will be next week's fish-wrapping. The movie will rise or fall on its own merits." Hopefully it will merit more praise than the couple-formerly-known-as-Bennifer's last joint venture, Gigli.
FRIEND-LY STYLE POINTS
Courteney Cox is known for her style sense, and it looks like that won't change now that she's pregnant. Case in point: She recently acquired a fitted, black matte jersey wrap-around jacket from San Francisco couture designer Christina Hurvis. Cox also is keeping up her manners: She adored the jacket so much that she sent the designer a thank-you note.
KEEPING WATCH
How much do you love Nicole Richie? Probably not as much as watch designer Rodolphe Cattin, who adored The Simple Life star so much that he gave her with a $15,000 timepiece when she showed up at a recent party for him.
