START SPREADING THE NEWS ...
Even though Kylie Minogue is a pop diva and international celeb, she still felt the significance of her first New York City appearance, a six-song set at the club Avalon during a party for the new Queer Eye for the Straight Guy CD. "It's taken me 17 years, but I'm finally here New York," Minogue told the exuberant crowd of 3,000. This is certainly just the beginning of her Big Apple experiences, however. Before launching into her Grammy-winning single, "Come into My World," she said of her set: "This is just a taster."
HAVE PARTY, WILL TRAVEL
Why stay put when you can party on the move? After a recent night of carousing at the red-hot Spider Club in Los Angeles, P. Diddy, Snoop Dogg and Rachel Hunter did just that, boarding a two-tiered, 80-ton party bus in the nightspot's parking lot. Comedian Jamie Foxx picked up the $4,000-a-night rental tab for the portable venue, which came equipped with flat-screen TVs and flowing Cristal champagne. We hear some diehards kept the party going until 5:30 a.m.
WHY DIDN'T YOU CALL ME?
Well, she tried. To honor former tourmate David Bowie (and perhaps pay him back for throwing her a New York City fete), Macy Gray gave a special half-hour performance recently at L.A. hotspot Shelter. Though the show attracted big stars – including Leonardo DiCaprio, Michelle Rodriguez, Mark Wahlberg and Thora Birch – mysteriously, Bowie himself was a no-show.
