IN THE DARK
He may make it look easy, but even uber-host Ryan Seacrest has to work to keep that perfect bronze glow. Before last weekend's Grammy Awards, the spiky-haired smooth-talker was spotted taking a quick turn on the Liquid Sun spray machine at Uvasun Tanning Center in West Hollywood. Rob Thomas of Matchbox Twenty and Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas also stopped by to catch some indoor rays.
LATER, AT THE PARTIES ...
The Warner Music Group post-Grammy bash at Kitana on L.A.'s Sunset Boulevard attracted Faith Hill, Mischa Barton, Madonna and Emmylou Harris – and with that kind of star power, there's bound to be some drama. Rapper Missy Elliott "refused to get out of her limo because the shoes she wore to the show were killing her feet," an eyewitness tells us. The solution? Her driver circled the block until her stylist arrived with a different pair.
A few miles away at the Los Angeles County Museum, the EMI party was so crowded that fire marshals closed the doors, leaving Tara Reid and Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler temporarily stranded on the sidewalk. Inside, Jakob Dylan and MTV nuptial darlings Carmen Electra and Dave Navarro were among those offered cocktails from flight attendant-style drink carts.
Sharon Stone enjoyed a romantic dinner at The Little Door on Third Street with her current beau, attorney Bernie Cahill, before the couple headed to the BMG bash at the Avalon club in Hollywood. There, each celebrity was given a chance to win a bright red 2004 Chrysler Crossfire by trying to pick the engine-starting key from a fishbowl. When Paris Hilton was offered a shot at it, she turned to boyfriend Nick Carter and shrugged, "Oh sure, let's do it. I don't even care. What is it – a Chrysler?" Eventually the car went to Backstreet Boy Howie D. Bandmate Kevin Richardson, who picked a losing key, told us: "Howie is the luckiest man alive. He wins at the Kentucky Derby. He wins in Vegas. He wins in real estate. God bless him." A humble Howie conceded, "I just turned 30. This is a good start to what will hopefully be a great year."
CAUGHT IN THE ACT
Justin Timberlake and girlfriend Cameron Diaz, having a late dinner of dim sum and Asian-inspired fare with about a dozen friends at Chi, the Sunset Boulevard restaurant he backs. Justin kept his arm around the jeans-clad Charlie's Angels star as the pair cuddled and joked for hours. At times, Diaz's easily recognizable laugh was so loud, other diners turned to look.
Martha Stewart, just hours after her personal assistant cried on the witness stand, dining at the opening of the new Oceo restaurant in the boutique Time Hotel in Manhattan. In signature Martha fashion, she admired the eatery's lighting, and chatted with general manager Jean-Philippe Leloup before leaving.
Lara Flynn Boyle, Ethan Hawke and author Jackie Collins, at the grand opening of Luce, a chic Beverly Hills eatery.
William H. Macy and wife Felicity Huffman, enjoying an afternoon at the Larchmont Farmer's Market in Los Angeles with their two children. Macy and the kids were all wearing hats that Huffman had knitted for them.
