VIVA LAS VEGAS
Tobey Maguire turned down his invitation to last weekend's Screen Actors Guild Awards, choosing instead to pull two back-to-back all-nighters in the poker room at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. The Seabiscuit star began on a roll, raking in more than $10,000 playing No Limit Hold 'Em with pal Leonardo DiCaprio until 8:30 a.m. on Saturday and 11:30 a.m. on Sunday. But Maguire's lucky streak came to an abrupt halt when he was quickly eliminated from the inaugural celebrity poker tournament sponsored by the hotel's Light nightclub.
The victor? Cold Mountain's Ethan Suplee, who took home the grand prize: a seat on the World Poker Tour worth $25,000.
The celeb tournament was part of Light's second anniversary celebration, marked by Mark Wahlberg, Anna Kournikova, Luke Wilson and others who were flown to Sin City on private jets for the occasion. Paris Hilton (who made the trip without boyfriend Nick Carter) spent six hours at the Venetian hotel having her hair extensions and makeup perfected before hitting Light's dance floor with sister Nicky and two friends.
Also on the VIP list: St. Louis Rams cornerback Jason Sehorn and wife Angie Harmon. Sehorn's mom came along to baby-sit the couple's 4-month-old daughter, Finley. So far, parenthood seems to be agreeing with them: Harmon "wants three or four more (kids)," Sehorn tells us.
Pearl Harbor director Michael Bay was also in town, celebrating his 40th birthday with super-producer Jerry Bruckheimer and eight other pals. They dined at Spago on Friday, then sampled the 9 Steakhouse on Saturday before partying into the wee hours of Sunday morning at Light, surrounded by a bevy of beauties. Yet somewhere along the way, Bruckheimer confessed, "I found time to read two scripts!"
CAUGHT IN THE ACT
