Sheriff's deputies in Louisiana have arrested a man accused of trespassing and stalking Britney Spears, according to reports.

The man, identified as Daniel Jacques Lachance, 25, of Quebec, Canada, was unarmed and offered no resistance, Patti Giannoble told Baton Rouge TV station WBRZ.

"To my knowledge, Britney Spears wasn't even at home," said Giannoble, adding that it is common for fans to go to the Spears property to try to get a look at their idol.

On April 12, Lachance was arrested on a complaint of trespassing on the Spears family property for "trying to locate Britney," Giannoble said, according to the Associated Press.

Spears, 22, does not generally stay at her Kentwood, La., home, but the family has several homes in the area. When the residence was being built, one man rode a bus from out of state and shot pictures of himself inside the unfinished structure, said sheriff's deputies.

Lachance's second arrest took place on land owned by the pop tart's father, Jamie Spears. The man is being held in the Tangipahoa Parish Jail in lieu of $150,000 bail.
