The modeling and music worlds have two new mothers: Heidi Klum and Martie Maguire.
German-born supermodel Klum welcomed a baby girl, named Leni, in New York City on Tuesday. The baby weighed in at 7 lbs. 5 oz., her rep tells PEOPLE, adding, "Mother and daughter are feeling great."
The father is Klum's former boyfriend, Italian businessman Flavio Briatore, 54. The couple separated several months ago, but remain on good terms. "They will be raising the child together as friends," said a source.
Klum, 30, had "been out every Saturday shopping and finishing up touches on the baby's room" before the arrival, a friend tells PEOPLE. And now that the baby's here, "she's super happy."
The pal also revealed that a relatively calm Klum – "she's German, so they're very matter of fact about it" – "celebrated with a big shower with her friends. She got all the necessary stuff, and a lot of great clothes from her fashion friends. Somebody brought an outfit from Morocco. Amazing ... stuff."
And just to calm any nerves, Klum's mother was around to help greet her new granddaughter.
Meanwhile, the news from Nashville is that fiddle-and-mandolin-playing Dixie Chick Maguire, 34, and her husband, teacher Gareth Maguire, are the parents of twin girls, Eva Ruth and Kathleen Emilie, born about three minutes apart on April 27, the group's reps announced Tuesday.
Eva Ruth (5 lbs. 13 oz.) arrived at 8:05 a.m., followed by Kathleen Emilie (6 lbs. 1 oz.). Both were 19 in. long.
