Jennifer Lopez and Elizabeth Taylor, move over: Paris Hilton is about to join you at the perfume counter.
The seemingly ubiquitous 23-year-old hotel heiress and The Simple Life star has signed a letter of intent to produce a signature fragrance for Parlux Fragrances, according to the Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.-based company – which also manufactures scents under the Guess, Ocean Pacific, Perry Ellis and Fred Hayman Beverly Hills labels.
"Paris Hilton is a prominent part of our popular culture, with a tremendous U.S. and international following," said Parlux chief executive Ilia Lekach in a statement. "I believe that Paris Hilton fragrance will be a terrific addition to the Parlux house of fragrances."
No details of the scent have been released, but as celebrity stylist James Aguiar waggishly told the New York Post: "It should smell like a cheap hotel room."
On a nicer note, subject to a deal being finalized, Lekach says in the release, Paris Hilton in a bottle should reach retail shelves by the end of this year.
