Branch, 22, is resting comfortably in a Los Angeles hospital.
The singer and her husband, Teddy Landau, who is the bass player in her band, were married in July 2004. This is their first child.
Branch, who is perhaps best known for her hit "Everywhere," first picked up the guitar at age 14.
She and Landau have been touring together since 2003. Her next solo album is due out in 2006.
