WEEK AHEAD: Lindsay Hosts MTV Movie Awards
Lohan behold: The teen queen will rule at MTV's big-screen party, as PEOPLE gets the scoop on what's happening in the coming week:
SATURDAY, JUNE 5: Only at the MTV Movie Awards would The Passion of the Christ star Jim Caviezel go head-to-head with Adam Sandler for best male performance, and Charlize Theron and Christina Ricci (Monster) compete against Jim Carrey and Jennifer Aniston (Bruce Almighty) for best kiss. Hosted by teen queen Lindsay Lohan, the irreverent show will take place at the Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, Calif., and will air Thursday at 9 p.m. ET. Though the big screen is the thing, music won't be forgotten: D12, the Beastie Boys and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs will bring the noise.
SUNDAY, JUNE 6: Will Hugh Jackman sing and dance his way into the winner's circle? The Aussie actor, who will host Broadway's Tony Awards for the second year in a row, has plenty of buzz surrounding his nomination for best actor in a musical (as Peter Allen in The Boy from Oz). And while Sean "P. Diddy" Combs isn't up for a Tony, his A Raisin in the Sun costars Phylicia Rashad, Sanaa Lathan and Audra McDonald – as well as the play itself – are. But the Titanic-esque winner of the night might just be Wicked, a musical prequel to The Wizard of Oz – it's up for 10 Tonys. The 58th Annual Tony Awards airs live at 8 p.m. ET from New York City's Radio City Music Hall on CBS.
MONDAY, JUNE 7: Sure, her TV alter ego spawned a thousand fashion trends, but in real life Sarah Jessica Parker is no slouch in the style department either. The Sex and the City star will be honored at the Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards, the industry's version of the Oscars. Parker will receive the fashion icon award at the ceremony (in the particularly un-stylish New York Public Library).
On the West Coast, the stars will be stumping for Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. Co-produced by Rolling Stone editor and publisher Jann Wenner and Miramax honcho Harvey Weinstein, the benefit concert will feature a rare appearance by Barbra Streisand, who'll team up with Neil Diamond for the first time in 24 years to perform their duet "You Don't Bring Me Flowers." New York's Radio City gets its own version of the fund-raiser Thursday.
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 9: Denzel Washington will receive the Herbert Hoover Humanitarian Award for his efforts as a spokesperson and board member of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City. Former South African president Nelson Mandela will present the actor with the organization's highest honor. Speaking of Oscar winners, Meryl Streep will be honored a day later, when she accepts the 32nd American Film Institute Life Achievement Award at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles.
