Paris Hilton is making it up to David Letterman.

The Simple Life star, on the promotional trail to launch the second season of her FOX reality series, is finally getting around to chatting with the CBS Late Show host in a visit to air Monday night.

The hotel heiress, 22, was originally scheduled to sit in Dave's guest chair last November, before Life's debut. However, the appearance was scuttled after the hysteria that surrounded a sex videotape starring Hilton and a former boyfriend, Rick Salomon.

At the time, Letterman joked on the air that her "crisis management" team was misguided in keeping Hilton out of public view, saying: "All I want to say to Paris is you're being led down the wrong path."

He said if she'd be on the show, "We'll make you a hero."

But that was then, this is now.

"Dave's been wanting me to come on the show, and I heard him asking for me last time, when everything was going on with the first show," Hilton tells the New York Post.

"And he's one of my favorite talk-show hosts, so I'm excited to go and see him."

The Simple Life 2 debuts on Wednesday, with Hilton and cohort Nicole Richie taking a cross-country trip in a luxury Airstream trailer from Florida to their home in Beverly Hills.

En route, say reports, one of their stops is a nudist colony. "I saw a pierced wiener," Richie, also 22, tells the Post.

"Ewww," remarked Hilton. "I've never seen old people naked before. It was gross."
