Among the bidders on items from Katharine Hepburn's estate at Sotheby's recently was Charmed star Rose McGowan, who bought a painting by the late actress. "I was definitely caught up in the moment at the auction. But what a moment it was," says McGowan. "Owning a person's history is odd and beautiful at the same time. I thought she would have gotten quite a kick out of the whole thing."

• Will Ferrell and actor-writer-producer Steve Oedekerk, at a John Kerry fund-raiser at Anchorman director Adam McKay's home.
• Cedric the Entertainer, India.Arie, Brian McKnight and Jimmy Jam, at the New York City ceremony announcing the Songwriters Hall of Fame 2004 inductees. Stevie Wonder and Neil Sedaka received special awards, and Daryl Hall and John Oats were inducted.
• Kelly Osbourne, Nick Lachey and Paul Walker (2 Fast 2 Furious), at L.A. hotspot Spider Club. Lachey sat at a booth with a group of friends, while Walker locked lips with an exotic beauty.
• Model Helena Christensen, at a New York screening of The World of Apu, part of Indyssey Entertainment's ever-so-hip Grand Classics series.
