Morrissette has been dating fellow Canadian Reynolds, 27, for two years now. Speaking to PEOPLE last month, Morissette said of Reynolds, whose breakout role was on ABC's Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place: "We have the perfect combination of compatibility and incompatibility that makes the relationship very passionate. It's perfect. I think it's about stretching each other."
She also called him "clearly the most courageous person on the planet, because he's so supportive of my expression remaining intact that he says, 'If it's your truth, go for it.' But my level of consideration has gone up a little bit – not entirely – but, a little bit."
No wedding date has been announced.
Morissette earned herself a reputation with 1995's Grammy-winning Jagged Little Pill, singing the bitter breakup anthem "You Oughta Know." She's currently on tour to support her new CD, So-Called Chaos, considered more mature and even more gentle than her previous efforts.
